Venturing off base
Today we ventured off base for the first time and we had a lot of fun. We walked through Fussa to the train station, which was about 20mins from the base gate. The streets were very narrow and the sidewalk was just barely wide enough for our jumbo stroller. Rob did a great job trying to navigate the curbs and traffic. We encountered a small parade, but of course we had no idea what we were watching. The train station hosts several American businesses like McDonalds, KFC, and Starbucks. We went through a Japanese grocery store and we were impressed by how large, clean, and well-stocked it was. There were a lot of fruits and veggies that we didn't recognize, and we liked seeing the seafood section. They were selling all kinds of fresh seafood like squid, shrimp, fish, and tons of sushi. Della really liked seeing the squid. We didn't have any yen, so we didn't buy anything, but we plan to do some of our shopping there because some of the prices seemed good and there were a lot of fun and unusual things to try! All for today.

Sarah, how are you handling the sleep and adjustments emotionally? I'm doing okay ... miss yoU!
I'm handling everything surprisingly well. We're really having fun. The time change hasn't been much of a problem. I think I'm used to getting up at odd hours with Morgan, so it hasn't been bad. The girls have switched over, with the exception of waking really early in the morning- the sun rises at about 4:45am- that's pretty early!
